Experience
PAUL R. GRANT is an attorney licensed to practice law in the State of California and has been in active practice since his admission to the California Bar in 1975. Mr. Grant received a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, having received a JD degree and Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from that institution.
PAUL GRANT’S practice continues under the name of the Law Offices of PAUL R. GRANT, Esq., a law firm attorney. He had been Of Counsel to the law firm of Mandel, Norwood & Grant, which association was amicably concluded when Mr. Mandel decided to relocate his office to Woodland Hills. He was formerly a partner in the law firm of Grossman, Grant & Cramer, located in Santa Monica, California, for many years prior to his association with the Mandel firm.
Mr. Grant’s practice is limited to transactional matters involving estate planning, trust administration, real estate law, and corporate/LLC/partnership law.
INTEGRITY
During his years of practice, Mr. Grant has represented and helped clients in the three main areas of his practice, and it is with some pride that he is able to point out that he has represented some of those same clients for many years, some more than twenty years, evidencing the trust clients and friends have placed in him. More specifically, he has represented his clients in the preparation of their estate plans through the preparation of revocable living trusts, insurance trusts, wills, powers of attorney, advance health care directives, and more. He has aided his clients in the funding of their trusts and the transfer of title to assets to such trusts as necessary components of a successful estate plan.
Trust
Further, in the area of estate and trust administration, he has had extensive experience acting as the attorney for trusts or for estates in probate or acting as a successor trustee of a client’s trust following their passing or as the executor of a probate estate. In addition, Mr. Grant has represented clients in substantial business transactions, including a number of acquisitions and sales of companies in the mergers area, as well as numerous instances of establishing corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, and related legal matters among members, shareholders, officers, directors, and partners. This involved the negotiation and preparation and/or review and revision of documents relating to a client's needs.
In the area of real estate, Mr. Grant has represented sellers and buyers of multi-million-dollar retail, commercial, and industrial properties as well as large-sized and medium-sized/value residential properties. He is familiar with almost all facets of the real estate business from the legal point of view. Further, he has been involved in structuring sale-leasebacks and complex lending transactions and has had substantial experience with conduit loans for shopping center properties and office building properties. Mr. Grant has also been involved in representing clients in the negotiation of substantial leases, both on behalf of the landlord and on behalf of the tenant.
